【摘要】:UsingtheproceduresinSections8and9,themanufacturerrsquo;instructionsandequipment,pressure-tightjointscanbemadebetweenmanufacturer-recommendedcombinationsofpipethatareasstrongasthepipeitself.1.1Thispracticedescribesgeneralproceduresformakingjointswithpolyolefinpipeandfittingsbymeansofelectrofusionjoiningtechniques.Theseshouldberegardedasgeneralproceduresandnotasasubstitutefortheinstallationproceduresspecifiedbythemanufacturers.Manufacturersshouldberequestedtosupplyspecificrecommendationsforjoiningtheirproducts.Note1Referencetothemanufacturerinthispracticeisdefinedastheelectrofusionfittingmanufacturer.1.2Thetechniquescoveredareapplicableonlytojoiningpolyolefinpipeandfittingsofrelatedpolymerchemistry,forexample,polyethylenestopolyethylenesusingapolyethyleneelectrofusionfitting.Consultthemanufacturer''srecommendationsforcompatibilityoftheelectrofusionfittingwiththespecificpipeorfittingmaterialtobejoined.1.3Theelectrofusionjoiningtechniquedescribedcanproducesoundjointsbetweenpolyolefinpipeandfittings,providedthatallproductsinvolved(thatis,pipeandfittings)meettheappropriateASTMspecifications.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
